The cost to run the pellet fire over the winter was almost halved to the amount we used to spend on wood

Details

We purchased a Parkwood Pellet Fire and are very happy that we did. We first came across them at the Geelong Heating Expo late in 2005 in the Geelong Home Centre.

At first we were very sceptical about how wood pellets could sustain enough heat to be able to heat a whole house and also be cost effective. We also did not think that the fire box would be able to get hot enough like the wood fire we had. Well, all of those questions were put to rest by the extremely helpful representative, Trevor Smith. After showing us how the fire worked we were amazed at the ease it took to light and run the fire. The electronic ignition took next to no time to start the fire. What won us over was the simplicity of the running of the fire, no more chopping wood, building the fire and having to light matches to start it, not to mention that you only have to grab a bag of pellets and fill the hopper on the top of the fire. Also an added bonus was the fact that the keyboard had a timer in it so you are able to set it to light when you want it too.

The cost to run the pellet fire over the winter was almost halved to the amount we used to spend on wood, and was not as time consuming. It is very efficient and does not produce the amount of dust and ash that we used to have to put up with from the wood fire.

As far as customer service goes Trevor goes above and beyond the call of duty. If there are ever any questions to be asked he is more than ready to answer and always with a smile. If ever there is anything wrong he makes sure that he is prompt and efficiently covers everything.

We recommend anyone who is thinking of replacing their existing wood fire to seriously consider purchasing a Parkwood Pellet Fire and enjoy the same warmth and aesthetic quality that a wood fire brings at half the cost and much less mess. Thanking Trevor and Parkwood Pellet Fires very much.

Piopio Prefers Parkwood Pellet Fire

Details

The house we purchased in October 2005 had a coal and wood duel burning log fire. We found that the existing fire needed to be on by 4 pm each day to heat the home sufficiently for the evening.

We both work during the day, and weekends are spent with sport or other family activities. Spending lots of time splitting firewood and then storing it have never been great options. Coal is expensive and dirty to use. We are also aware of the emission levels/environmental issues surrounding coal and wood burners and carbon levels from fires.

We researched the Parkwood web site mid 2006 and visited Di’s Parkwood Pellet Fire going in her home.

We asked Di and Ian to come and discuss Parkwood Pellet Fires with us. With the Parkwood Pellet Fire permanently set into the van, they arrived in Piopio to explain how they worked, check out our home site and give advice on whether the Parkwood Pellet Fire would be a sound option to heat our home.

Di and Ian gave us a quote for full cost and installation of the fire – council permit included – as well as discounted price for our initial home show inquiry. We contacted Di and Ian before the winter of 2007, they obtained the permit and the Parkwood Pellet fire was duly installed – the previous years’ quote honoured.

We are thrilled with the Parkwood Pellet fire. The timer we can set to come on each morning before we get up, or to come on in the late afternoon before we get home. We don’t waste wood keeping the fire going during the day when nobody is home.

The varied settings allow the house to be heated quickly and then lowered to maintain the heat throughout the evening. The fan pushes the heat well out into the room, ensuring coverage of a large area. The heat is such that we are now making inquiries into heat transfer kits to transfer the heat into the hall and bedrooms.

We would be happy to talk to anybody, via Ian and Di, who might be contemplating buying a Parkwood Pellet Fire – it simply works!

It is a pleasure to deal with someone that shows concern on how the product is being thought of

Details

Just to let you know that the pellet fire is going very well and to thank you for the service that you have supplied after installing the heater. I'm afraid now days society has changed and it is very rare that after you have been sold something that the sales person contact you to see how the product is performing and to offer backup service. I must say that it is a pleasure to deal with someone that shows concern on how the product is being thought of and the backup service that is being offered. We have no hesitation in recommending your product to any of our friends, in fact we are proud to show it to them and I am certain if the heater and service continues as it is doing in to the future it will insure the growth of your firm. Keep up the good work and keep in touch.

The fire also throws a beautiful warm light into the room at night and can eliminate the need for lighting when watching TV

Details

Recently we purchased two pellet fires to use as the sole heating for our 40 square home. My parents also purchased a fire for their 27 square home to supplement other heating.

For our home, the heaters have very nicely met our needs. We have a kitchen/ lounge area of over 6 squares that we mostly live in during winter. This area gets toasty warm, with a very pleasant, clean heat. The fire also throws a beautiful warm light into the room at night and can eliminate the need for lighting when watching TV.

They are easy beyond belief to start, and the minimal cleaning required gives me a nice sense of satisfaction once the job is done.

We are very, very happy with our pellet fires.

My parents are also happy with theirs. Their heating bills for winter, in the past approached $2,500, with oil central heating and a gas heater. These costs have dropped dramatically with only minimal use of central heating and only one delivery of pellets at $450 to date. They run their heater almost 24/7 and their house is totally different to walk into. Prior to getting the pellet fire heater, the house was always cold, even with central heating. Now, one is enveloped in a cozy heat.

The Pellet fires have been a very successful choice for heating our homes and we are very happy with them.
